Out of sorts this afternoon. Don't know if it is the blustery winds, dislocation after our mini holiday to Hamilton Island, or the fact I have so many things to do I'm not sure where to start. Might also be supreme procrastination ...
About the holiday - it was for the wedding of my brother in law. The in-laws as a whole wanted to meet at almost every meal, but managed to keep such interaction to an acceptable level. I enjoyed spending quality time with my wife, and almost felt relaxed. (At least I think that is what I was feeling - its been so long that I'm not entirely sure what relaxed really feels like.) Al and I have been together for almost 13 years now (in total) - but still enjoy simply being together.
Highlights - the place where we stayed (The Beach Club on Hamilton Island - recommend it), the surprise fireworks my brother-in-law had organised for his new bride, the helicopter ride over the Great Barrier Reef and the Whitsunday Islands, and a candle lit dinner one night with the wife.

About 4 months ago my wife and I agreed that we would try to have a baby. In the previous year she had worked hard to lose weight and change her diet so that she was healthier. We had also been working from a financial and a career point of view to ensure that if we did have a child, that it would not be a huge source of money stress.
It took a couple months before we got serious, then we suffered what was most likely a blighted ovum - which threw us out for a little while. This morning my wife showed me a positive pregnancy test.
Fantastic news, although very early days.
