We have had a very busy few weeks - with Jack and Grace coming down with yet another nasty bug from childcare (throwing up and having the runs), then Al and I getting it (we really should have given the kids more sympathy, it was a horrendous one), and a critical outage at one of my customers which saw 4 very long days of work for me, finally coming to a conclusion after an all nighter.
Because of the nature of the bug, we didn't ask for Grandma Q to come and help. While this made some days more difficult, all told we coped pretty well. I certainly don't think before Al and I had our two kids that we had any idea on just how interesting it can get trying to juggle their care, work and home - when sickness is thrown into the mix.

During the time Jack was sick I was remarking to a mate about how he seemed rather intrigued by the sensation and requirements of throwing up. He liked being surrounded by towels and having a bucket on his knee, and got somewhat excited when he managed to make it to the toilet to throw up at one point. My friend replied with "only your child could be 'intrigued by the sensation' of gastro." He might be right.
